Miss Button upholstered
You might say that Miss Button is a more modern version of the traditional stool. It was designed in 2021 by Jonas Lindvall, who over the years has made a substantial contribution to the Stolab range of products: Miss Holly, Miss Tailor, Hundranian, Wrap, Tureen and – of course – Miss Button, to name but a few. This is a stool that is not afraid to flaunt what it’s got, and it is sure to take centre-stage in any space. Miss Button takes Stolab’s renowned tradition of exquisitely turned legs and spindles a stage further in the form of a generously proportioned and slightly convex seating surface that gives the finished product an extra helping of character. From spring 2023 onwards Miss Button will also be available with a covered seat, enabling the stool to blend readily into settings that have a more “upholstered” character, while also offering a seat that is even more comfortable. The contrast between covered surfaces and show-wood adds a further dimension to interior decorating solutions. The ongoing evolution of Miss Button is a result of the highly valued collaboration between Stolab and Jonas Lindvall. Martin Johansson, Stolab’s CEO and owner, describes such teamwork as “invaluable, because Jonas has not only become intimately acquainted with Stolab’s DNA, but he has also helped us to expand our horizons. This is a process I’m sure we will take further, as we pursue our aim of creating tomorrow’s classics.”

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Stolab and playing an active part in the company’s development throughout the journey on which it has embarked over the past ten years or so. Ambitions are high, there is an enormous fund of knowledge, a rich heritage of design and a huge amount of drive in the company. These are the four cornerstones on which Stolab has built its growing international appeal. One important component in Stolab’s DNA is Lilla Åland from 1942, the quintessential stick-back chair that has become something of a Swedish national treasure. Throughout the years this has been joined by many new products as the range has evolved, so who knows what the future offers as product development continues and the range expands?” says designer Jonas Lindvall.
