Smoked oak

Our ambition with Prima Vista has been to create furnishings that combine eye appeal with function – the perfect choice for everything from workday breakfasts to those big festive occasions. A table that changes effortlessly in size to meet different needs. A chair so comfortable that sitting – for a quick break or for hours on end – is pure pleasure. A series whose hallmarks are good design, quality and craftsmanship – characteristics you can look forward to enjoying for many years to come. First launched in 2019, the series now includes Prima Vista in a smoked oak finish. This is a surface treatment that lends the furniture a sober elegance, while accentuating the lines and subtle contours of the design. Smoked oak will also be available on Lilla Åland chair, Lilla Åland Windsor chair and Carl table. Collaboration between Stolab and Marit Stigsdotter stretches back a long way, over more than 30 years. Since Staffan Lind also began to contribute his talents 10 years ago, the pair have designed many products for both Stolab and its sister brand, Albin. Prima Vista chair, bar stool and table have all been designed with beauty, tactile appeal, comfort and spontaneity in mind – all values that are clearly evident in the finished product. In the words of Marit Stigsdotter and Staffan Lind themselves: “The form catches your eye. The function clinches the deal.”

Smoked oak – now also on Lilla Åland chair, Lilla Åland Windsor chair and Carl table. The rich warmth of the darker surface treatment we call smoked oak will also be available on Lilla Åland and Carl table. Broadening the expression in this way opens up opportunities for even greater variety in your interior design solutions. Carl table is designed by Marit Stigsdotter and was conceived as a tribute to the work of Carl Malmsten and his Lilla Åland chair. The table, with its appealingly slender silhouette and generously rounded form, can be extended with up to four extra leaves to cater for gatherings small and large alike. The legs are beautifully turned and subtly flared, and the tabletop finishes in a chamfered edge. Carl comes in a choice of solid birch or oak. In addition to Prima Vista and Carl, the quintessential stick-back chair Lilla Åland will also be available in smoked oak from mid-March onwards. This variant, initially launched as a limited edition in September 2022 to celebrate the chair’s 80th jubilee, will now become part of our standard offer. All these products in smoked oak open up new opportunities for furnishing in an elegantly sober style with an expression that for many people epitomises the very essence of solid oak.
